student diplomats, and bloggers to contribute during their study abroad experiences.
Glimpse Correspondent
Glimpse is seeking applicants for its Correspondents Program.
Supported in part by National Geographic Society, The Correspondents Program is
for especially talented students specializing in writing or photography.
Correspondents receive a $600 stipend, a professional editor, career training
in writing and photography, guaranteed publication on Glimpse.org, and
potential publication in National Geographic platforms. For more information,

NAFSA Student Diplomat Video Contest
Do you have a great study abroad story? Or, maybe you know
someone who does. The 2009 Student Diplomat Video Contest, launched today by
NAFSA: Association of International Educators and Abroad View, the global
magazine for students, invites undergraduate students to tell their story for a
chance to become the next Student Diplomat – and win $300.
The contest is open to U.S. undergraduate students who are
currently studying abroad or have recently returned from a study abroad
experience. Videos should focus on how their experience has helped to advance
global understanding. Participants are encouraged to consider how their study
abroad experience has shaped them as a global citizen, served as a bridge to
cross-cultural understanding, promoted peace, or positively impacted the local
community in which they studied. Videos should be no longer than three minutes.

The deadline for entries is 11:59 p.m. EDT, November 6, 2009.
After the finalists are chosen by an expert panel of judges, the winning video
will be selected through open voting on the NAFSA Web site. The winner will
receive a $300 cash prize and the title of “2009 Student Diplomat.”
Write a Blog for AmeriSpan
If you are studying for at least 4 weeks, write for the AmeriSpan
blog while abroad and receive a 5% retroactive rebate on your program upon
return. Rebate will not exceed $200. Minimum 3 entries per week, 350 words per
entry. Email entries to blog@amerispan.com. They will be posted shortly after
your blogs are received. You need to apply to be a blogger at least 4 weeks
before your program starts. AmeriSpan selects the writers and you will be
informed before you leave if you’ve been selected as an AmeriSpan blog writer.

Video Blog for AmeriSpan
If you are studying for at least 2 weeks, make a video or a video
blog while abroad and receive a 10% retroactive rebate on your program upon
return. Rebate will not exceed $300. If selected, you must submit a minimum of
one entry per week during your trip. You may submit them upon your return to
your home country if you are unable to upload them abroad. All blogs/links to
blogs are to be sent to blog@amerispan.com. The length can vary from entry to
entry, however each entry must be a minimum of 3 minutes. AmeriSpan must
receive all blog(s) within 5 days after your scheduled end date unless
otherwise arranged. You need to apply to be a blogger at least 4 weeks before
your program starts. AmeriSpan selects the bloggers and you will be informed
before you leave if you’ve been selected as an AmeriSpan blogger. Click here to
